About Chris

Chris Cecil is a managing director of tax services for RSM US LLP, based out of RSM’s Fort Lauderdale, Florida, office. He provides tax consulting, business advisory and tax compliance services for real estate and hospitality clients. He was selected to the firm’s Industry Eminence Program in 2025 as a senior analyst covering the real estate and construction industry, working alongside the firm’s economists and other program participants to analyze and forecast industry trends affecting middle market businesses.

Experience

Since joining the firm in 2012, Chris has served as tax advisor to family office real estate clients, property management companies, hotels and resorts, private clubs, and common interest realty associations. As a senior manager at RSM, he provides industry-specific insights to help clients navigate complex tax issues and has successfully represented clients before the IRS in audit defense. Chris advises real estate clients on optimal tax structuring and identifying and optimizing tax deductions. He also serves as the firm’s private clubs tax leader.

Chris is passionate about building meaningful relationships within RSM and throughout the community. He is an active leader in RSM's Generations employee network group, which promotes a culture of respect and understanding across the various generations within the firm. Additionally, Chris has been a member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals organization for over 10 years, during which he has served as president of his chapter's board and contributed to multiple charity event committees. Chris’ leadership background and competitive spirit fuel his drive for excellence, including his continuous pursuit of innovative solutions to elevate team performance. He is a husband and father and enjoys golfing with his friends and family.
