About Mo

Mo Bell-Jacobs is a senior manager specializing in state and local taxes in RSM US LLP’s Washington National Tax practice. He helps clients navigate the constantly evolving state and local tax landscape by addressing new legislation and regulation, case law and other developments that affect middle market businesses.

Experience

Mo has more than 15 years of experience in state and local taxes with a particular focus on state tax policy issues and their influence in state and local jurisdictions. He has a deep understanding of state legislative trends and the economic conditions and forecasts for state budgets as they relate to taxpayer concerns. His industry specialties include retailers, wholesalers and construction clients.

He also helps coordinate RSM’s approach to major state and local tax developments, such as the Wayfair decision, tax reform and pandemic response, providing thought leadership and client consulting. He creates and implements solutions focusing on sales and use tax reverse audits and processes, nexus expansion, remote workforce, pass-through entity workaround taxes, and sales tax process reviews. As a subject matter specialist, Mo has authored hundreds of tax alerts, articles, webcasts and blogs on major state and local tax-related developments.

Prior to joining public accounting, Mo practiced state and local tax law.
